Breaking news! Shopping centre & Sports facilities

February 6th, 2009

And the good news keeps on coming! We received this direct from Roda Golf. What great news this is! Finally positive news about not only the sporting facilities, but also the Roda shopping centre! Well, we’ll leave it for them to explain. The official communication follows:

——————————————————————————————–

Dear all,

It is with great pleasure that we would like to inform you of some exciting new developments that will be unfolding at Roda Golf & Beach Resort in the near future.
Firstly, we are improving access to the golf course, shop and restaurant, by commencing work on a brand new easy-access parking area conveniently situated next to the putting green and hole 9.

Alongside the new parking area, work is about to get underway on the construction of our new sporting facilities, which on completion will enable you to enjoy tennis and paddle tennis on dedicated courts, as well as a range of sports including basketball and five-a-side football on the new multi-sports court. Located opposite the hole 7 lake in a private lot within the complex, these new facilities are expected to be completed by this summer.

In addition, we are currently in the final stages of negotiation with a number of partners with regard to construction of the new shopping centre and work is expected to begin shortly.

For more information about any of the projects listed above, please don’t hesitate to contact our Customer Services team.

Best wishes,

RODA GOLF & BEACH RESORT

We are phase 3 owners, can you explain why the security barrier is not used and anyone, it seems, can enter.

    Thanks

    Karl

    Hi Karl and Carla,

The barrier is left up because even tho’ the resort is gated, the golf course is open to the public, however all cars are video’d as they enter and leave and security is always present all around the resort.

    Hi Bernard,

As far as we are aware, De Vere have certainly NOT, pulled out of Roda, nor do they have any intention of doing so.

Do you have any drawings of the new layout for the Commercial Centre, the car park and the new Sports facilities?

It would be nice to see the overall plan!

    thanks,

    Colin.

    Hi Susan,
There will definitely be a mini supermarket open by then, it will actually be open by the end of March, the new sports facilities could well be open by July and the commercial area should be well under construction with a completion date of Feb 2010.

The new sports facilities will open on the 5th July’09 - I was told on my visit there last week. There are tennis courts, basket ball courts and a new children’s park there - looks good!

The commercial centre is due to start in September / October and will have 10 units - one is definately an Irish bar and there are other shops and restaurants. This should hopefully be complete by late summer 2010??

    Colin. PhaseII owner.

l am coming with a group next weekend staying in the apartments on the course.
Is there any other facilities we acn use except the golf course? l see there is a tennis court now, is that free for people staying in apartments?
Is there a barbeque area or swimming pool? Is there a website with such facility information?

    Thanks Dave
