Roda Golf and Beach Resort Information

We are very excited to provide you all with the very latest and up-to-date pictures of the Roda Golf beach club which is set to open in July.

The amount of work that has been undertaken since our last visit is just incredible, we at Roda Golf Info did not believe they would be ready by July, however the place has undergone a complete transformation.

All the beaches are now immaculate, there was even a beach sweeper cleaning the beach as we were there. Most of the gardens are now in place and they were busy planting all the various shrubs and plants during our visit. The swimming pool was looking fantastic and was being filled before our eyes.

The style and quality of the building itself was absolutely phenomenal, the various bars are now ready with beer pumps in place (excellent news!) the open plan kitchens, in a similar style to the kitchen at the Roda Golf clubhouse have also been installed. Most of the terraces and walkways throughout the beach club have now been completed - whilst there is still lots of work to go, the place look just incredible!

The remaining work seems to be mostly just “tidying up”, other than that everything seems pretty complete.

They have about fifty sliding glass doors that fold back on to themselves which bring the outside in, or the inside out, not quite sure, but is just an amazing feature. There is so much glass upstairs and downstairs that you get the feeling of being outside even if you are inside, it all looks so light and airy, which of course it is, and the views over the Mediterranean Sea from all parts of the beach club is fantastic.

Yet again Calidona have exceeded all of our expectations, yes we have to wait a little longer for this fantastic facility, but the great news, it is here now and WOW! are you going to enjoy it.

Exciting news at Roda Golf and Beach Resort! Roda Golf are pleased to announce the opening of their new sales office at the old pro-shop where the temporary clubhouse was located.

You can now view an excellent range of resale properties, as well as have access to the brand new “key ready” and “off-plan” properties direct from Roda Golf. The new sales office will be open seven days a week, so please pop in and visit the very friendly and professional staff any time, even if it is just for a chat.

If you wish to sell your property at Roda Golf and Beach Resort, please feel free to call the office between 10am and 6pm any day and receive the very best help and advice from the staff there.

Your property will be marketed and promoted to everybody that walks past the old clubhouse, there will be slide show presentations as well as regular updated pictures in the windows 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

A quick update to let you know that DeVere have posted added a new page to their website here.

This is great news for owners at Roda Golf and Beach Resort, some of whom were starting to get concerned that the De Vere Hotel development had “stalled”. Here at Roda Golf Info we prefer to look on the “bright side”. So we are very happy that De Vere have once again reaffirmed their commitment to the Roda Golf Hotel. Here’s the full text they recently added to their website:

We are proud to announce that De Vere has signed a contract with the Calidona Group to manage Roda Golf and Beach Resort, a 140 bedroom hotel, spa, beach club and 18-hole golf course in the Murcia Region of Spain. Located in a natural setting close to the famous Mar Menor, this golfer’s paradise offers an excellent year round climate and easy access to miles of Mediterranean beaches.

At the resort guests can indulge in a range of activities including swimming, tennis and, of course, golf. Nearby, one can try a range of activities including sailing, water skiing and trekking. Or why not step out in to the local area and discover medieval villages, explore fertile valleys or simply indulge in a spot of retail therapy.

Construction of the hotel will commence later this year and the hotel is expected to open in the summer of 2010. Start practising your swing now.

Great news “straight from the top” today! We can now inform everyone that the Roda Golf Beach Club will be opening in “mid July”. The last time we were at the Roda Golf Beach Club was at the end of April, and we could see then how the work was cracking on. Well, not it’s very nearly time to enjoy all that work…from the side of the pool with a cold beer!

We’ll get back over to the club as soon as we can to update the pictures we can offer. And you can be sure we’ll be there the day it opens to take some pictures for you, just like we did the day the Roda Clubhouse opened! No rest for us, but then Calida International Properties are sponsoring us to bring you the latest information. Perhaps they’ll buy us that beer too? :)

Roda Golf has staged it’s very own Ryder cup over the weekend of June 7th and 8th!

Don’t get carried away… whilst it was a European team vs a British team, we did not see Severiano Ballesteros or Jose Maria Olazabal out there! There was however some fantastic golf played and even though the weather wasn’t the best, it was a tremendous spectacle for all who turned out to enjoy the event.

The Roda Golf course came in for yet more plaudits with everybody loving the golf course and the facilities. One of the golf professionals from a nearby course commented that whilst Roda is not the most difficult course in the region (it was never meant to be) it was certainly the nicest looking and the best kept, wow! praise indeed for a golf course less than two years old!

You can view the brand new 360 degree virtual feature at www.rodagolf.com and click on the golf course, English is available at this site, just click on the flag. This is a fantastic feature and well done to Calidona for providing it, if you have not visited the site and seen this feature, you in for a treat.

The clubhouse at Roda Golf and the restaurant was the real winner. The food was fantastic, and even the service was “spot on”. There has been some small level of criticism levelled at the staff concerning the service, however some new, and might I say excellent, staff have now joined the team and everything at Roda is now as you would expect from a 5 star resort.

Roda Golf are now offering night time practice facilities with the driving range now being floodlit, the range is open until 11.00pm. I bet the wives (or golfing widows) will be delighted to hear of this!

The mood and general atmosphere over the weekend at Roda Golf was awesome, residents and visitors alike all mingled together with the golfers and everybody had a great time.
With plenty more facilities still to come and lots more competitions due this year, the future promises to be very exciting at Roda Golf and Beach Resort.

We’re gearing up ready for our June visit to Roda Golf and Beach Resort, but in the mean time here’s a small gallery of pictures showing the great Roda Golf Pro-Shop. You will find the pro-shop on the ground floor of the Roda Clubhouse. It really is a fully stocked shop. Why not consider travelling light to Spain for your next game and buying your gear here! :) Thanks to the staff in the shop who let our photographer take these pictures.

When we did our first full photo report back in March (Roda Golf full report - March) we took a picture “over the fence” showing the Phase 4 villa properties, which were in a very early state of development. It was nice to see when we returned for our latest full report (Roda Golf full report - May) that things had progressed considerably! You can easily see all the latest changes to the properties in the two images below.

We’ll be back in Roda later this month with our photographer, providing you with another full update. Where would you like to see covered in detail next time?
